Guide
Automated load search for European fleets.
Automated load search is software that watches a freight exchange continuously and matches every new posting against your trucks, instead of a dispatcher refreshing filters by hand. It is also called automated freight search, automatic cargo search or load board automation. This guide covers what it does, how it works on Timocom, and what changes for a fleet that runs it.
Loadagent runs automated load search across your whole fleet as an official Timocom partner. A 14-day free trial is available, contact [email protected] to get started.
What automated load search does
Continuous scanning instead of manual filters
A dispatcher can refresh a freight exchange filter a few hundred times a day. Automated load search reads every new posting as it appears, for every truck in the fleet, day and night.
Matching against the actual vehicle
Each posting is checked against the truck that would run it: length, weight, trailer type, ADR permits, current position and preferred lanes. Loads that cannot physically be taken never reach the dispatcher.
Ranking by expected profit
Automated freight search is only useful if the best load is on top. Tolls, fuel for the specific vehicle, EU driver hours and empty kilometres are priced in, so the ranking reflects the profit actually left on each load rather than the headline rate.
Contacting the load owner automatically
The first email goes out within seconds of a matching load appearing, follow-ups are handled, and the dispatcher sees the offer once a real rate is on the table.
Duplicate and noise filtering
The same cargo is often posted several times by the same forwarder. Repeat postings are collapsed so the feed stays short enough to act on.
A human decision at the end
Every booking needs explicit dispatcher approval. The automation covers the search and the legwork, and the dispatcher keeps the relationship and the final call.
Manual search vs. automated load search
| Job | Manual search | Automated load search |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | One truck at a time, during office hours. | Every truck, around the clock, including weekends when good loads post. |
| Reaction time | Minutes to hours after a load appears, if anyone is watching that filter. | Seconds. The first email is out before most competitors have refreshed. |
| Matching | Filters approximate the truck, then the dispatcher checks the details by eye. | Every posting checked against the real vehicle specs and current position. |
| Ranking | Gut feel from yesterday's rates. | Ranked by calculated profit including tolls, fuel and empty kilometres. |
| Trucks per dispatcher | Six to ten before response quality drops. | Six to ten plus about three more, which is what customers report after switching. |
Approximations based on real customer usage and feedback. Individual results vary by fleet size, lanes, and operating model.
How it works on Timocom
You enter each truck once: dimensions, capacity, trailer type, permits and preferred lanes. You then start a search for that truck with the criteria you want.
From there Loadagent scans Timocom in real time through the official partner integration, matches each posting against the vehicle, prices the route including tolls, fuel, driver hours and empty kilometres, and emails the load owner from your own mailbox (Microsoft Exchange, Outlook or IMAP). Replies are read, offers with a real rate are surfaced, transport order PDFs are extracted, and the counterparty and contract are screened for payment and legal risk.
The dispatcher sees a short ranked list and approves the booking.
Automated load search FAQ
What is automated load search?
Automated load search is software that watches a freight exchange continuously and matches every new posting against your trucks, instead of a dispatcher refreshing filters by hand. The software reads the load board around the clock, discards loads the vehicle cannot take, ranks the rest by expected profit, and can contact the load owner automatically.
Is automated load search the same as automated freight search?
Yes. Automated load search, automated freight search, automatic cargo search and load board automation all describe the same thing: software doing the searching and first contact that a dispatcher would otherwise do manually on a freight exchange.
Which app automatically searches for freight loads?
Loadagent runs automated load search on the Timocom freight exchange for European expeditionary fleets. It is an official Timocom partner, works inside your existing Timocom subscription, and covers search, outreach, transport order extraction, counterparty screening and margin calculation.
Does automated load search work with Timocom?
Yes. Loadagent connects to your existing Timocom account through the official partner integration. You keep your Timocom subscription and the automation works the exchange on your behalf across every truck in the fleet.
Does the software book loads without asking?
No. Automated load search in Loadagent stops at a qualified offer with a real rate. The dispatcher approves every booking.
How fast does automated search contact a load owner?
Within seconds of a matching load appearing on the exchange. On the spot market the best-rated loads usually go to whoever reaches the owner first, which is where most of the gain from automation comes from.
Is automated load search worth it for a small fleet?
Small fleets often gain the most, because automated load search gives a five-truck operator the search and screening throughput of a much larger dispatch team. A 14-day free trial is available on request.
